    Moderate quake hits Japan

    An undersea quake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale Saturday struck near the eastern coast of Honshu island in Japan, the US Geological Survey said.

    The tremor occurred at 0022 GMT at a depth of 34 km under the seabed. The epicentre was determined at 40.1832 degrees north latitude and 142.2788 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported.
